you are in xi an now?shuyuan is the youth holel i went when i was in xi an last year ,not sure the dog was still there or not,miss her.and the small yard,the big tall old wall just in front of the hotel....

Great round up! Especially what you learned. It shows that when traveling anywhere in the world you can learn a whole lot about the places you visit, but you learn the most about yourself. Have a blast in China!

A few corrections:
it is Lijiang Old Town, not old village.
Mama Naxi's is the low-end backpacker dive - she's not actually Naxi
it's bai jiu not bijio
and there are 3 Tiger Leaping Gorge stones along the way - at the start, middle and end (you probably just saw the one at the last gorge)

Uruguayan dogs can be clever like that.
I once had one follow me across a stream (swimming behind us) and then across the little desert that separates VALIZAS from the paradise of CABO POLONIO.
Now, there is a place you should visit next time you are in Uruguay!
